HOME BRACKETS COACHES RESULTS RULES

1974 NY Giants 24, 1951 NY Yankees 17:  ALCOA fantastic finish...that's for sure.  The game came down to a 4th and 2 with 1:08 left on the clock and the Yanks on the Giants' 7 yard line.  If the Yanks score a TD the game heads to OT.  QB Bob Celeri saw nobody open and was forced to run.  The Giant defense stopped him inches short of the first down and took over possession.  Craig Morton (pictured) must have been the happiest man in town after having posted a career day (21-25-216 & 1TD)  Morton completed 84% of his passes and the trio of Kotar/McQuay/Dawkins ran for 135 yards on 31 carries.
1992 NE Patriots 13, 2002 Cincinnati Bengals 12:  This game came down to a missed XP and a botched last minute FG as the Pats narrowly slipped past the Bengals.  Vincent Brown (pictured) had 10 solo tackes and a huge INT.  Coach Ed Mikhli immediate fired his kicker as he sat there in disbelief.
  WORST EVER BRACKET Finals
1983 Houston Oilers 21, 1973 Houston Oilers 10:  It took 5 rounds of no-win play to prove that the 1973 Houston Oilers are:  The Worst NFL Team Ever !!!  In a game where the MVP (Earl Campbell) averaged only 3.9 yards per carry the hapless '73 Oilers still couldn't win.  oach Dave Jackson was forced to suffer through 5 rounds of tournament play with this challenging bunch of has-beens and never-was'es.  The poor guy could have known his opponents plays and still not been able to do anything about it.  Even more shocking to me is the fact that we had 3 Houston teams in the tournament and 2 of them had to face off for the honor of being considered the worst ever.  I'm sure after the game Crawford Davis (83-hou) was breathing a sigh of relief.
